The Encounter, 2026

We meet often. Me and this stream. Our paths intersect when I walk to my studio. It begins in the meadows near the Strict Reserve. It flows very discreetly through Białowieża and flows into the Narewka River. We used to call this small river "Stinking Stream". This reflected the lack of respect meted out to the water flowing in its narrow banks. Fortunately, this name is no longer used. In reality, it's the Golden River. Let it remain that way. A small, pristine stream in Białowieża, enchanting anyone who takes a moment to look upon it.
